Vliegende Meubelmakers

De Vliegende Meubelmakers Foundation originated from an initiative by Wilma Dierx and Gerco Buis to provide assistance to victims of the 2004 tsunami in Sri Lanka with the help of fourth-year MBO students from the HMC in Amsterdam. After the initial activities, there was still some budget left over. New students wanted to share in the adventure, and so in 2007 our independent foundation became a reality. They are now a foundation that works with every furniture maker and woodworker, not just students.

The foundation has gathered a wonderful group of volunteers around it. Practical and enthusiastic people; cheerful, inventive, flexible and doers! They have a core team around the board with which they organise and carry out all activities and projects.
